So who are we?
We don't claim to possess the witty brilliance of Futbolita or the enviable investigative prowess of Kickette but here's the brief: we are a bunch of girls, definitely legal by international standards, who happen to be very fond of the beautiful game. The perks of this partnership include our mutual love and fondness for Real Madrid, our high propensity to poke fun at Barcelona's failures (except our favourite resident Cule; more on her later) and our collective admiration for Iker Casillas's beautifully manicured hands. We will talk, or make sincere attempts to talk, about football and we do our best to filter out the Madrid bias from our posts.
We are occasionally joined by Voldecule: The Cule who must not be named. In all fairness, we are attempting to engineer a non-biased, impartial take on football in this corner of the internet. Voldecule provides us with occasional updates from her end of the spectrum which we, the disgruntled Madridistas, envy like Iago did Othelo. We are constantly plotting her downfall but have so far been thwarted. (But we'll admit very shamelessly that Pep Guardiola frequently features, and tops, our Shag-worthy Men over 35 list that we hang by the bathroom mirror)
With the World Cup just around the corner, we thought what better way to kick off our blogging adventures than to talk about it, do a bit of match coverage, provide links to decent reading materials for the lazy readers, and give our own takes on whose sense of style we dig and whose we'd like to erase out of existence.
A caveat (if you instantly thought of the Sid Lowe Bingo started off by the brilliantly talented cast of Football Weekly, you get a cookie from us) though: You might expect to see heavy focus on the Spanish national team and the Argentine national team. Friendly banter, jibes and non-caustic takes on competitors are expected. While we try not to take ourselves too seriously, we can tell apart our Ronaldos from the Laudrups with remarkable clarity!
